Who we are

Momentum Energy Advisors LLC is an independent advisory practice registered in Wyoming, United States, at 309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801. The firm is run by Julio Retana and works from Southeast Asia. We decide what is collected and why, so we are the controller of the data described here.

What this website collects

Three things, and nothing beyond them.

The contact form

If you use the form on the contact page you send us your name, your email address, and your message. You can also give an organisation and a subject line. The form posts to Netlify, which hosts this site, and the content reaches us by email. We use it to reply to you, and if the conversation turns into work, to run that engagement. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not have one.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It does not load until you press Accept on the cookie banner. Press Decline and the analytics script is never fetched, so no analytics cookies are set and no measurement happens. Your answer is kept in your browser under the key mea_cookie_consent. That is a record of your choice, not a tracker, and it never leaves your device. Clear your browser storage and the banner asks again.

Server logs

Netlify records the usual request data when it serves a page: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. Netlify keeps those logs to run and protect the service. We do not query them and we do not use them to identify visitors.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for their own purposes. There are no advertising pixels, no retargeting tags, and no social media trackers on this site. We do not build profiles of visitors or try to work out who you are.

The only companies that touch this data are the ones that run things for us: Netlify for hosting, Google for analytics when you have consented, and Microsoft for email. Each processes it on our instructions and for no other purpose.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries. Kept as email while the conversation is live and for up to two years after, so we can pick up a thread. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
  • Engagement records. Kept for seven years, which is what United States tax and company record rules require of us.
  • Analytics. Expires on Google Analytics' standard 14-month retention. We do not export it anywhere else.

Momentum's internal tools and Google account data

Momentum builds and operates software for its own administration. Some of these tools connect to Google accounts held by the firm and its principal, using the Google APIs, and read Gmail on the account holder's behalf.

These tools are internal and single-user. They are not offered to the public, there is no sign-up or account to create, and no one other than the account holder has access to what they read. They run on infrastructure the firm controls. They read connected mailboxes to consolidate notices, deadlines, and attachments, to prepare draft replies, and to keep track of work in progress.

What those tools do with Google user data:

  • Access is read-only. They use the gmail.readonly scope. They read messages, their metadata, and their attachments. They cannot send, delete, label, or change anything in the mailbox.
  • Only the result is stored. What is retained is the extracted item: a date, a deadline, a task, a document, and a record that a given message has been processed. We do not keep bulk copies of mailboxes.
  • The data stays with the firm. It is held on infrastructure the firm controls. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to build profiles, and not shared with anyone for their own purposes.
  • Service providers. Parts of the processing are carried out by third-party services under contract. They receive only what a tool sends them, act on our instructions, and do not use it for anything of their own.
  • Access can be withdrawn. The account holder can revoke it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Access ends immediately, and the tool stops.

Momentum's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where a connected account carries personal correspondence, it is handled on the same terms. It is read under the same read-only access, retained only as the extracted item, and never published, shared, or used for any other purpose.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • Replying to you. Our legitimate interest in answering someone who contacted us.
  • Analytics. Your consent, given at the banner and withdrawable by clearing your browser storage.
  • Engagement records. Performance of a contract, and our legal obligation to keep tax and company records.

Where the data sits

Netlify and Google hold data in the United States and in other countries where they operate. The people who read your email are in Southeast Asia. If you write to us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, your message will be read and stored outside that area.

Your rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Email info@momentumenergyadvisors.com and we will answer within 30 days. If we have to keep something, for example a record a tax authority requires, we will tell you what and why.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Changes to this policy

The date at the top of this page is the last time it changed. If we change something material, we will say what changed rather than quietly reissue the page.
